Job description

The Account Executive (AE) is a key role that aims to drive the development of EPG Health business by leading the delivery of an efficient, innovative, effective, and profitable service on client accounts and projects.

Reporting to the Client Services Director, the AE is responsible for the successful implementation, launch and ongoing management of client projects. Developing and growing strong strategic client relationships, monitoring Health Care Professional (HCP) engagement and communicating the client's return on investment are key aspects of the Role.

The AE will be assigned to an account or group of accounts and will be measured based on delivery and reconciliation of the project deliverables. The AE will also be required to collaborate closely and coordinate effectively with internal stakeholders (SAMs, EPMs, marketing, finance, data analytics & content delivery) to help drive renewals and work closely with the SAMs / ADs identify new and growth opportunities.

Key areas of responsibility 

  • Manage pre-launch activities, coordinate internally/cross-functionally as needed to meet client requirements and deliver services
  • Ensure all roles and responsibilities are clearly defined at the start of the project, and that this information is relayed to all internal and external stakeholders
  • Involve relevant individuals in team meetings and discussions, to ensure that client business needs are optimally addressed
  • Consult with client project team to establish deliverables, the metrics used to evaluate project success, and to align on expectations for maximum client satisfaction
  • Workl closely with SAMs and Ads to help define and develop briefing documents/launch plans based on client objectives
  • Maintain an overview of programme tactics
  • Input into final programme activity and budget with client
  • Attend client meetings/conferences as required
  • Provide regular project status reports to internal and client stakeholders. Use pre-established metrics and reporting to ensure they are on track to meet goals. Consult with clients to remedy programs that are off track

Internal collaboration and coordination 

  • Partner with new business team presale on individual accounts to define budget, set expectations, define client success goals, technical requirements, and briefing plans
  • Work closely with SAMs and ADs throughout the client lifecycle to achieve renewal targets and identify new and growth opportunities (where applicable)
  • Acquire and maintain good therapy/condition area knowledge
  • Monitor and communicate client feedback to relevant internal teams to promote continuous improvement to product and processes
  • Liaise appropriately with all relevant departments, providing information that may assist them in their day-to-day work
  • Be open to take on special projects that complement team initiatives

Financial management

  • Establish and confirm financial arrangements with client and ensure these are adhered to at all times
  • Maintain awareness of financial status of accounts at all times and ensure this is accurately reported at business plan meetings as requested by senior managers
  • Ensure invoices are dispatched on time and in accordance with the client/project agreement
  • Work with SAMs and ADs to reconcile projects on assigned accounts

Business development 

  • Support proposal development for Client Services teams (renewals and upsell)
  • Up-selling: identify additional activities with existing clients that add value to client and EPG Health and collaborate with internal teams to create proposals for clients
  • Renewals: keep abreast of all renewal dates and additional opportunities in order to secure them prior to contract expiry

Desired skills and experience

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • At least 1 years experience working in a marketing services, digital, technology, medcomms or other relevant environment
  • Ability to build long-lasting and trusted relationships with customers
  • Experience in monitoring competition to identify new opportunities
  • Evidence of delivery of projects to time and to budget
  • Confident communicator who can collaborate effectively with their peers
  • Good influencing and negotiating skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication

  • Proficient in programs including PowerPoint, MS Office and Excel

Professional experience

  • Knowledge of medical/marketing communications, digital publishing / media, and pharmaceutical medical / marketing services
  • Knowledge of related areas within medical, regulatory and digital marketing
  • Track record in managing B2B projects
  • Experience with management of clients
  • Experience of project management systems such as Paprika
